12 months - new goals

Aims for the next 12


Lose weight Currently 14 st 5lb - want to lose 12lb - aiming for 13 7. Now 13st 5

Lose fat My scales state that I have 4 st 7lb of body fat. My aim is to reduce by a 20lb - positive so far down to 3st 11

Rehab Knee 14 years ago I injured my knee - I rested it for 10 months and have played football (300+ games with a dodgy knee). Serious rehab requried

Equalise my leg size My left quad is over an inch smaller than the right. (See knee). Need to build up the muscles so legs are same size.

Get fit Playing cricket this summer has proven my fitness level is poor, need to build up fitness, to improve concentration

Enter a 10k/half marathon event Enter an event to raise money for leukemia research.

Learn a new subject Spend time each week on a new academic subject.

Take and pass an exam Not sure what exam at the moment, but wil find one.

Be more pro active Spend less time on my ass in front of the goggle box

Take my daughter on holiday This is a scary one, taking my daughter on a plane somewhere, and spending a week together. Will need to build up my inner strength - going monday!

Wow have just updated my book list for the year and have now read 53 books, not bad for a years work! Must learn to go out now and again

Hope you all had a good Christmas, didnt put on too much weight, and keem to return to work (for those of us that haven't!)

Bored so thought I would say something here

Having watched some television just recently a few things have struck me - yeah my daughter was throwing bricks at me!

Firstly being a keen Xfactor viewer I wish Alex all the best, top performance mate, may he have a long, oh perhaps just a decent christmas at number one, and enjoy his only top ten hit, after all once the tv programme finishes that the end of most of these people.

Not sure if you are aware of Peppa Pig, but apart from being horrible, some things stand out....Mrs Rabbit seems to work 12 jobs and still has time to bring up 2 kids - yeah a rabbit with only 2 kids something wrong there! (jobs include, bus driver, recycle yard operative, ice cream seller, supermarket checkout operative, museum receptionist & cafe worker at musem the list goes on.....)

Recently they went to the dentist - yeah Mrs Rabbit was the assistant, after giving the kids a check up, the wily old dentist spots the dinosaur (george pig's toy) has dirty teeth and proceeds to clean them - no doubt for another polish scrub fee of £16!

Adverts are also popular (im not one for the bbc!) There is one advert from the government about drink driving, when a guy goes into the bar and the barman goes off on one (unusually he wasn't Australian - hehe :)) but he was a failed actor as he goes through his routine, finally asking whats it to be then? I think at that point my response would be nothing mate, Im off next door to get bladdered in peace!

Renault have recently started showing an advert for one of their boxes, oops cars. They show all the things we said we wouldn't do, kiss girls (ew what a thought eh? lol) own a computer, have kids etc... Think the moral of the advert is that yes you are a weak fool and have done all the things you said you wouldn't, be strong to yourself and at least hold true to one thing and not own a Renault!

Nintendo are currently advertising with several celebratiy families/celebraties, being a Pompey fan I recognise the Judas B*stard RedCrap but the others I am lost on, perhaps I should Hot magazine or something to work out who the hell they are....perhaps they are from the jungle maybe thats why I dont know who they are...

The Barclaycard advert with the water tube across the city is very well and good, but the question I ask....how does he get to work? Does he catch the bus in his trunks - as he left all his work clothes at work.... Another thing he paid for a banana before it was scanned....

Going.........

Well I have been out and now come back in and logged in (eventually) to what was my live space - doesn't feel like mine anymore! Think I will give it a couple of days to see if any further improvements are made (suggestion, turn off the enforced changes from yesterday). If nothing has improved then I think its time to say goodbye and turn this off,

Can anyone suggest a decent blogging site, where you are free to see other people (strangers) blogs and comment on them with out being in your "network" without them being a messenger friend etc.....

This is my generation, baby

WHAT HAVE THEY DONE (YES I AM SHOUTING!) I AM OLD AND DONT LIKE CHANGE, PARTICULARLY WHEN YOU CANT FIND HALF THE STUFF YOU WANT, LIKE FOR INSTANCE UPDATED SPACES - HOW CAN OTHER PEOPLE OUTSIDE OF YOUR "NETWORK" SEE YOU SPACE?

I can see now they have FACEBOOKED spaces......WHY you are two different products aimed at two different things.

I SHOULD OF GUESSED SOMETHING WAS IN THE PIPELINE AFTER MY PAGE VISITS HADN'T CHANGED YESTERDAY.....

Hopefully soon I can figure out wtf they have done and make some changes to my poor brain, in the mean time I may just curse some more at mickeysoft - Im not buying Vista and will settle for my old version of office now!

Violets are Blue by James Patterson Another Cross novel this time he comes up against vampires and the pupper master, good read 4 satrs

Beach Road by James Paterson with Peter De Jonge An interesting thriller based in the Hamptons, with a nice twist in the tail... 4 Stasrs

The Last Detective by Robert Crais Another Elvis Cole novel, another fast paced thriller. Another 4 stars

The Monkeys Raincoat by Robert Crais An Elvis Cole novel, in fact the introduction. A fast paced thriller 4 stars

The Cold Moon by Jeffrey Deaver Thriller in the Lincoln Ryhme series, a book full of twists and turns. 3.5 stars

Executive Power by Vince Flynn Another book in the Mitch Rapp series and one of the 7.5 books I read on my recent holiday - boy am I behind on updating this site - slack so and so! 4 stars

The Two Minute Rule by Robert Crais This is one of those books, that I heard before I read, and enjoyed in both formats. 4 stars

Flints Law by Paul Eddy Previously published as Mandrake, but re-titled to start a Flint series of books, a good thriller. 3 stars

The Forgotten Man by Robert Crais Elivs Cole a private Detective tries to un-ravel a case for the LAPD, a terriffic novel. 3.5 stars

Cross by James Patterson More holiday reading! This time another Alex Cross novel, and there are one or two in between, so another child has apperaed! Must read more to find out... Another good read 3.5 stars

The Midnight Club by James Patterson A detective novel where police chase a highly dangerous crime lord. A great read 3.5 stars

Along came a spider by James Patterson Detective Alex Cross faces the challange of finding the kidnapper who wants to be more famous than that of the son of lindburgh kidnapping. Many twists and turns in this cracker 4 stars

Separation of Power by Vince Flynn The third book in the Rapp series, this one see's Rapp trying to find out who tried to kill him (see third option), as he untagles the web, its reported that Saddam has nukes, so he is also needed to help destroy them, another gem 4.5 stars

Transfer of Power by Vince Flynn The introduction of Iron Man the code name of Mitch Rapp, the ultimate in CIA operatives. He tackles terrorists that have taken over the white house, will he get the man that has haunted him for 10 years? 4 stars

Term Limits by Vince Flynn The pre-Rapp book, an introduction to alot of the characters that appear later in the series and a thriller of a story as a number of politicains are murdered.

A friend of the family by Lisa Jewell An odd start that build momentum throughout. A nice read 4 stars

Third Option by Vince Flynn One of his earier books, again featuring Iron Man, Mitch Rapp, a good little story but a tame ending, hoping the next book fills in the blanks of the ending....just need to find it!

Act of Treason by Vince Flynn Mitch Rapp again, and this book fills in some of the blanks from the other books that I have read, if only I could find these books in series order! Still another cracker 4.5 stars

Consent to kill by Vince Flynn Mitch Rapp is back with a bang, another cracker of a thriller...If you like spy thrillers you should read Flynn. 4.5 stars

Rising Phoenix by Kyle Mills Mark Beamon ace FBI investigator at his best....A cracker of a thriller and a really thoughtful plot..if only? 4.5 stars

Memorial Day by Vince Flynn Another Mitch Rapp book, another thrilling read...Good stuff 4.5 Stars

Protect & Defend by Vince Flynn What a result another new to me author that I like, Mitch Rapp the ultimate CIA man...Thrilling adventure. 4.5 stars

Fade by Kyle Mills A cracker of a thriller from Kyle Mills right up there with the best he has done IMHO give it 4 stars

One Hit Wonder by Lisa Jewell Another good read and a bit of an emotional ending. Nice and relaxing read. 3.5 stars

Vince & Joy by Lisa Jewell Well another Jewell book, 3rd of her I have read now, and all because Im old and the title of the first one I read was thirty something! Well this one was another nice easy read, and got to question are there really women like Joy?

Ralphs Party by Lisa Jewell A pleasant book, and enjoyable read. 3 stars

Smoke Screen by Kyle Mills A really good read, nice story and the reason I am in need of sleep...This book and early morings for work dont mix! The ending was a bit tame though. but 4.5 stars

Free Fall by Kyle Mills Dont you just love filling those holes in the sub plots, from other books. Another thriller and another 4 plus stars, Im off out tomorrow to try and find another one!

Storming Heaven by Kyle Mills Another book in the Beamon series, this one earlier than the last one I read. Another goo read with a nice twist. 4.5

Sphere of Influence by Kyle Mills Wow I have found another author I like yippee, down side is there are only 6 more books to read :( This one is in his Mark Beamon series, I thought it a cracking read 4.5 stars

The Main Chance by Colin Forbes One thing that really stands out in this book is just how old fashioned his characters are. Not as strong as his earlier books but a pleasant story.

Runaway Jury by John Grisham A gripping story of big business vs the little man based in the court room. A good read 4 stars

Nothing To Lose by Lee Child The latest Jack Reacher novel, see's Jack arrested for Vagrancy and taken out to the town limits. Wondering what they are hiding leaves him no option but to go back and find out. 3 stars

The Partner by John Grisham Cracking read think it's my favourite Grisham! 4.5 stars

A Prison Diary II by Jeffrey Archer Further insight into the first few weeks of his sentence, this time his time spent at the cat C prison Wayland.

Prison Diary by FF8282 An interesting insight into the first few weeks of a prison sentence. 3 stars

The Appeal by John Grisham His latest novel, focuses around a mississippi trial against a chemical company and it's appeal, and how both sides try and "buy" the Supreme Court Judges in their elections. A great read 4.5

The Hard Way by Lee Child Reacher makes a mistake and even ends up in England, the question is will he realise in time? another 4.5 stars...Roll on 24th March for the new book, fingers crossed the post will work in my favour and arrive sooner! - Yeah right

Even Steven by John Gilstrap Just to prove I read some other books as well! 2 days in the life of a well to do couple turns their lives on their heads. A great story 4 stars

One Shot by Lee Child A crazed gunman kills 5 people in the afternoon rush hour, a few hours later the cops have all the evidence lined up and the suspect is arrested and banged to rights, what does this man do? He calls the man who can nail him Jack Reacher 4.5 stars

The Enemy by Lee Child We discover the reason for Jacks demotion in this look back of a case of his past, insightful at filling in some of the blanks in his life. 4.5 stars

Without Fail by Lee Child Jack is sought after on the recomendation of his dead brother, another mystery and a cracking read. 4.5 Stars

His N Hers by Mike Gayle His 5th novel of 30 something take on life, a witty observation of grown up life. 3.5 stars

Echo Burning by Lee Child After getting in a bar room brawl in Texas, Jack is hot footing it from the fuzz, and ends up being picked up by a mexican who doesn't appear to be who she says she is? 4.5 Stars

The Visitor by Lee CHild Jack joins the FBI, but only as a consultant and investigates killings of ex-army personel. 4.5 stars

Tripwire by Lee Child I can see a bit of a pattern happening here! Another Reacher novel, this time Jack is found in Miami and is soon on his way to New York to solve a big mystery. Another great read 4.5 stars

Die Trying by Lee Child Cracking novel, Reacher at his best, as he is kidnapped and transported across country by a militia group. Gets 5 stars love it!

No Mercy by Colin Forbes Tweed and his SIS team investigate some ghastly Dartmoor murders. 3 stars

Playing for Pizza by John Grisham A cracking story about a failed american football quarter back who disappears off to Italy to get away from an angry mob, and brings success to his new team. 4 stars

False Impression by Jeffrey Archer Thriller involving art, banks, eastern european killers & the FBI. A good read. 3.5 stars

Killing Floor by Lee Child Jack Reachers Debut. He marches into the town of Margrave and is immediately arrested and sent to prison! A cracking thriller involving lots of money! gets 4 stars....
